Anilchandra Bhagat, MD FASA is an ABA board-certified physician anesthesiologist and one of the founding members of NBAA. With more than 30 years of experience in the field, Dr. Bhagat has built a respected career delivering high-quality, patient-centered care. His areas of focus include general anesthesia, with special interests in regional blocks and obstetric anesthesia. He earned his undergraduate degree from Cook College at Rutgers University in New Jersey, followed by a medical degree from Ross University School of Medicine. He completed his anesthesiology residency at Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center.

Dr. Bhagat has served as a BLS and ACLS instructor and currently contributes his leadership expertise as a member of NBAA’s Compensation Committee and the Medical Executive Committee at Saint Peter’s University Hospital. He maintains active memberships with several leading medical associations, including the ASA, ASRA, IARS, and AMA. Fluent in English, Gujarati, Hindi, and Spanish, Dr. Bhagat brings a multilingual and inclusive approach to care. Outside the operating room, his passions include movies, gardening, hiking, and working on cars. “I value being part of the NBAA team because we operate like a family—supporting each other and constantly evolving to grow stronger.
